Christopher Art Gallery Exhibit Presents ‘Aspects of Realism’ in Multi-Artist Show [06/13/2016]
“Aspects of Realism,” an exhibit featuring works by Victoria Fuller, Winifred Godfrey, Roland Kulla, Armin Mersmann, and Jacqueline Moses, opened June 6 in the Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.
“The exhibit features works by the artists that emphasize many approaches to realism from photorealism to fantastic realism and works that blend fantasy with realistic painting style,” said Gallery Director Beth Shadur. “These artists all use realism in their works, but their approach to realistic imagery is quite varied, as are their media,” she added.
A closing reception for the artists will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 14, in the gallery.
The Christopher Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. In observance of Independence Day, the gallery will be closed on Monday, July 4. Visits also can be made by appointment.
