Area High School Artists Receive Awards from Prairie State College [4/6/15]

2015 high school art competition
Prairie State College (PSC) recently announced the winners of the 2015 Area High School Exhibition during a special reception held in the Christopher Art Gallery on the PSC main campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. The juried competition is for high school students in Community College District 515. Among the winners were (from left) Aaliyah Korkoyah of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, who received a merit award; Zoe Flores of Bloom Trail High School, who received the Best Drawing award; Katie Kuester of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, who received the Best in Show award; Brittani Andrews of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, who received the Best Photography award; Kevin Borgman of Beecher High School, who received a merit award; and Jack Knetl of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, who received a merit award. Not pictured are Lucy Sloan of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, who received the Best Painting award; Raven Brown of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, who received the Best Graphic Design award; and Megan Fuhrman of Marian Catholic High School, who received the Best Sculpture Award. The works of all the students who participated in the competition are exhibited in the gallery through Thursday, April 9.
