Solar Summit at PSC Calls for Region to ‘Become Solar Ready’ [10/03/2017]
Prairie State College (PSC) recently hosted a Solar Summit, “Become Solar Ready,”
as part of an ongoing effort on behalf of the campus community, surrounding community
members and the South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium (SMHEC). The goal of
the effort is to make Chicago Southland the greenest, most resilient region. Welcoming
panelists to the college were representatives from the summit’s co-sponsoring organizations,
including Allessandra Kummelehne (seated, right), PSC’s sustainability coordinator,
and K.C. Doyle (standing, third from left) from the Cook County Department of Environmental
Control; and (standing, from fifth from left) Genny Boesen from SMHEC, Stephenie Presseller
from Moraine Valley Community College, and Edith Makra from the Metropolitan Mayors
Caucus. Panelists included (standing, from left) Jon Carson, founder and managing
partner of Trajectory Energy Partners; Vito Greco, senior manager of Solar Programs
for Elevate Energy; and Laura Oakleaf, legislative coordinator for the Cook County
