Get ahead this summer by enrolling at Prairie State College [04/04/2017]
Prairie State College (PSC) offers graduating high school seniors and students from four-year colleges and universities, an opportunity to get ahead. Guest students can take general education courses at PSC this summer and transfer the credits to their home school. PSC provides many of the same courses at a fraction of the cost. Course options include English, speech, biology, chemistry, history, math and more.
PSC offers two eight-week summer sessions. The first session begins May 30 and ends July 20. The second session begins June 12 and ends Aug. 3. Classes are offered days, evenings and online and provide the same quality instruction as four-year institutions.
To register for courses as a guest student, you must submit an admission application online (not required if you previously attended PSC) and complete a registration form. College transcripts, placement testing and advisor signatures are not required for "summer only" students. While guest students are not eligible for financial aid assistance, the PSC Foundation is now accepting applications for summer scholarships. The deadline to apply is Monday, June 19.
