Microsoft Academic Alliance
Prairie State College is a Microsoft Academic Alliance partner. Through this agreement with Microsoft, we are able to offer free Microsoft software to our students using ELMS (e-Academy License Management System).
Here's how it works: During the second week of classes each semester, faculty members will collect e-mail addresses from all students enrolled in courses in the Information Technology (IT) Department. This includes all students registered for courses with the following course prefixes: ITNET, ITPRG, ITWEB, ITAPP, and ITOFS. The e-mail addresses will be uploaded to Microsoft's ELMS site, and students will register online for the software that they are requesting. The software is then available for download directly from Microsoft, and students can then install the software or burn it to a DVD for future use. Some titles can be purchased from Microsoft on DVD for the cost of shipping and handling.
