Alex Moore
Men's Head Cross Country Coach

A true “pioneer” in every sense of the word, former PSC harrier Alex Moore returns to the program he helped construct the foundation of as he joined former head coach Oscar Espinosa’s staff as an assistant in 2012.

And after just one season, Moore finds himself at the helm of PSC's men's program for 2013.

A member of PSC’s very first cross country squad in 2005, Moore holds the Prairie State record for a five-mile race after posting a clocking of 29 minutes, 45 seconds at the Waubonsee Invitational on Sept. 3, 2005.

Following his one season at PSC, Moore took his racing spikes to Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa where he capped off the final two years of an outstanding collegiate running career as a member of both the Beavers’ cross country and track and field squads.

Moore, a product of Rich South High School, encountered his first taste of the coaching fraternity in 2007 when he served as a student assistant on the Pioneers’ staff, helping Espinosa plan workouts and develop new strategies for within the program He also played a role in keeping tabs on the professional standards of PSC’s cross country runners.

Moore also spent two years as an intern in the sports information office at Buena Vista.
