Head Volleyball Coach
Just two years after joining the Prairie State College volleyball staff, former Arizona State University middle blocker Ashley Ottmann assumes the role of head coach of the Pioneers' program for the 2014 season.
Ottmann served as an assistant to former PSC head coach, and current Athletic Director, Jacque Hoak during the 2012 and 2013 campaigns.
Ottmann, a 1996 graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, played four productive seasons for the Sun Devils from 1996-2000, graduating in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in communication.
The bulk of Ottmann’s coaching experience has been conducted at the club level as she has been instrumental in the success of Tsunami Sports in Chicago Heights.
When not coaching, Ottmann is self-employed as a distributor for Herbalife International.
Assistant Volleyball Coach
Former Eastern Illinois University standout Jorie Dieter joins the Prairie State College volleyball staff as a first-year assistant coach.
A 2007 graduate of Joliet West High School, Dieter, who also played soccer, was a two-time all-area volleyball selection by the Joliet Herald News as well as two-time All-Southwest Suburban Conference volleyball pick. Her strong play also helped Joliet West secure an IHSA regional title.
The Joliet native was awarded the “Gatorade Rookie of the Year” for her efforts during her freshman campaign of prep volleyball in 2004. She was also a four-year High Honor Roll student while being awarded the Connie Bryan Volleyball Memorial Scholarship Award.
Success also followed Dieter to Eastern Illinois as well.
In 81 career matches, Dieter compiled 392 kills and 262 total blocks.
Her 132 total blocks in 2010 were good for fifth overall in the Ohio Valley Conference. Her nine blocks against Murray State in 2009 placed her in the Panthers’ record book, tying her for ninth on the single-match chart.
