# Prairie State College Development Notes * * * ### Templates * * * Clicking the "New" button in OUCampus gives you the option to create one of the following page types or sections. 1. Article Page * Creates an rss news article page. * Note: Article Date will be on same line as page title. RSS Content can be added later but if added at creation of page, specify an external link if article is to be hosted on another site/url. Enter in additional text if rss item is for a PSC in the news feed / page. 2. Professional and Personal Page * Creates a professional and personal page. Image gallery and gallery overlay are done in editing the page. Preview will render the page properly. * Note: Editing the gallery overlay is done by the snippet table transformation. This is an editable region though, any additional text or   will alter the look and feel of the gallery slider itself. 3. Level Two Datatable Page * Creates a level two datatable page type. Use of PSC Bootstrap snippet will insert a blank bootstrap table. To add an archive link, select Heading Four and add the link and text. 4. Library Level Two Page * Creates a library level two page. * Note: Styling for this page will be imported thru xsl. Admin / Template group can restrict this to the library only site. 5. New Library Section * Creates a new section, with two folders - images, docs and the following files: _nav.htm, _props.pcf and index.pcf page. 6. New File * Creates a blank file with extension .txt, which can be changed to any other extension. (E.g. .php, .js, .css, etc.) 7. New Press Releases News Section * Creates a new section, with two folders - images, docs and the following files: _nav.htm, _props.pcf and index.pcf page of PR-newsfeed page type. * NOTE: Link to Archive must link to an archive page, that has parameter "pageType" = archive. This will allow a page to filter and have pagination. Page available in static-templates folder. This page layout can be switched to a PR-Archive or a PSC In the News Section. 8. Level Two Landing Page * Creates a level two landing page type. Banner image and banner alt-text can be entered at page creation. Can also be modified in the page properties. 9. New PSC In The News Section * Creates a new section, with two folders - images, docs and the following files: _nav.htm, _props.pcf and index.pcf page of PSC In the News page type. * NOTE: Link to Archive will not render on this page type. This page type has a default pagination built in. Modify the page properties to increase the number of items per page or change the feed URL. This page layout can be switched to a PR-Newsfeed or a PR-Archive. The side bar options can be entered here or modified later. 10. New Redirect * Option to redirect a filer or page to a short name. 11. New Section: * Creates a new section, with two folders - images, docs and the following files: _nav.htm, _props.pcf and index.pcf page of page type level two landing. Image banner and alt-text can be modified on page properties. Page layout can be changed. 12. Three Column Page * Creates a three column page type. Editing the left and right column title is done in page properties. Main content is shared between all page types. Changing the Page type will preserve main content. But Left and right column content is not carried over, they are separate editable regions from the main and additional content. 13. Three Column Shared Asset Page * Creates a three column shared asset page. Infographic is enabled thru page property. Asset chooser is added to page and formatting for infographic is rendered. Disabling will remove the infographic. New infographics can be created and edited in the asset section of OU Campus. * Note: Infographics should be of type web content. 14. Two Column iFrame Page * Creates a two column iframe page type. To add an iframe, use the snippet chooser and select the iframe table. ### Static Templates * * * There are no "New" button templates needed for the following page types. Copy these to their appropriate locations when building out the site. 1. /static-templates/psc-press-releases-archive.pcf * This page will allow a filter for month and year archive pages. Copy this page into a news folder or location where there needs to be an archive of RSS Press Releases by month. Link to this page for archive link for filter by month and year type of archiving. 2. /static-templates/psc-press-releases-archives.pcf * This page will is for archiving a news feed pagination and other items are prepopulate using this page. Page type must be PR-Newsfeed for archive. Use this for PR-Newsfeed archvie link pages. 3. /static-templates/a-z-list.pcf 4. /static-templates/search.pcf 5. /static-templates/404.pcf ### Section Files * * * * _nav.htm These links are displayed in the local navigation file for each section. Publish this file to see newly added links within staging. The _nav files are processed server side to acheive the nested navigation. * _props.pcf Contains the properties for setting the breadcrumb value of a section. * _docs Documents folder to upload different files to be used on other pages if necessary. * _images Images folder for an alternative location for images. Image selection is defaulted to /images folder on root. ### Directory Variables * * * NONE ### Includes * * * * analytics.htm Copy and paste google-analytics code into this file. Publish out when done. * analytics-library.htm Copy and paste google-analytics code for library into this file. Publish out when done. * bottom-icon.htm PSC Image Alert. * copyright.htm Copyright symbol with OU Campus direct edit button and text. * footcode.htm Includes a copy of scripts that are inserted after the footer. * footer-lib.htm Library Hours and contact information. * footer-media.htm Social media icons and links. Edit this file in soruce code and publish out. * footer-nav-bottom.htm Footer navigational links home, academics, etc. * footer.pcf Footer contact, quicklinks and study information. Editing this file will edit the social media, bottom icon, translate and content. Content is edited in a table transformation snippet. * google-translate.htm Google Translate Javascript. * headcode-lib.htm Meta tags, stylesheet and script links for library. * headcode.htm Meta tags, stylesheet and script links for main site. * library-ask.htm Image and Link for ask a library. * library-search-subnav.pcf Library sub nav list elements below a search box. * logo-course.htm Header image for main site. * logo-lib.htm Header image for library site. * logo.htm PSC Main Logo. * main_menu_rs-lib.htm Response main menu for library. * main_menu_rs.htm Responsive main menu for main site. * mega-nav-lib.htm Library Navigation menu Table Transformation snippet for editing. Restrict access to admin-level. * small-links.htm A-Z Index, PSC Directory, Apply Now links. * top-links.htm Future student, Current Student, Parents, etc. links. ### PSC Table Transformation / Snippets * * * * Archive Query String - Table to create a query string for archiving RSS landing pages. * Bootstrap Table Stub - Insert this snippet to get default styling and editing capabilities for a bootstrap table. * Column Listing Widget - Column listing to display content and title, up to four columns per table. * Fancy Box Thumbnail Gallery - Table to display a Title and a fancy box thumbnail gallery in any region of the page. * Gallery Overlay - Gallery overlay table to display links and text on slider. * Home Page Calendar Events - Home Page Calendar Events to Enter a main title/heading and content to render the calendar region. URL Calendar wiz goes here to parse and display events. * Home Page Other Resources Widget - Menu Heading / Title and listing / content to be display on the home page. * Home Page Resource Widget - Home Page resources widget table choose an image and edit the link to render styling in the resources section. * Home Page Youtube Video Table - Home Page Youtube link and teaser text table. Styling is specific to side bar region. Will render in other regions but frame styling is best in side-bar content. * Image Listing Table - Create a main title, insert images and content to render a listing view of subtitle, image and content. * Library Box Table - Library Box table, allows user to enter a title, insert an image and brief content. To be used mainly on Library Site Index Page, Styling will render differently in main site or other pages. * Library Text Center and Feature - Table to format a new text center and a feature box content. This is for Library index page. Other regions will render with different styling. * Menu and Event Listing Table - Table to render a main heading / title, with menu titles and links with styling. * Newsroom Table - Heading / Title, feed url, filter category, and number of items to display for parsing a news feed. * Snippet iFrame Table - iFrame Table transformation to render html. * Twitter Feed Asset Table - Home Page or other editable region table to render a title and a twitter feed asset. Simply create a twitter feed code asset and drop into the asset cell of this table.
