I am Dr. Michael Anthony, your new College President, and I cannot express how thrilled I am to serve in this new role. Some of you may have met or interacted with me in my past role as Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness. As we are back on campus and continuing to reach for normalcy in these turbulent times, I wanted to take this opportunity to encourage you to stay the course.

    The Prairie State College (PSC) Board of Trustees has appointed Michael D. Anthony, Ph.D., to serve as the college's 17th president. The announcement was made at a special board meeting held on Thursday, Sept. 30. Dr. Anthony currently serves as the Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness at PSC. He will start his new role as PSC president on Oct. 15, 2021. Dr. Anthony will replace Dr. Thomas Saban, who has served as interim president since March 2020.

  • Cook County Health Vaccination Clinic to be held at Prairie State College

    With the increased number of COVID-19 cases and the uncertainty surrounding the Delta variant, Cook County Health has partnered with Prairie State College (PSC) to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations. The pop-up clinics will be held from noon to 4:30, on Monday, Aug. 30, Monday, Sept. 20, and Monday, Oct. 18, in the PSC Conference Center, located at 202 S. Halsted St., in Chicago Heights.

    The Prairie State College (PSC) Forensics Team competed in a number of tournaments over the spring 2021 semester. Despite limitations associated with the pandemic, the team persevered, earning several medals, with individual successes including a PSC student earning three national titles at the Phi Rho Pi National Speech Tournament held April 5-11, 2021.

  • Free Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing at Prairie State College

    CHICAGO HEIGHTS -- Illinois Action for Children's Early Learning Programs, in partnership with the Housing Authority of Cook County, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and Prairie State College (PSC), will offer free COVID-19 testing for Illinois residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Testing will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Thursday, Feb. 18, and Monday, Feb. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in parking lots C and D, on the main PSC campus, located at 202 South Halsted, in Chicago Heights.

  • Tuition Relief offered to PSC students with outstanding balances for 2020 spring and summer semesters

    Prairie State College (PSC) students with balances from the 2020 spring and summer semesters may be eligible for the Tuition Relief Program. This $300,000 grant provides eligible PSC students the opportunity to receive funds to clear their financial encumbrance at the college and regain good financial standing and avoid future collection or garnishment actions.
