Prairie State College Annual High School Juried Art Exhibit Open Through April 3 [03/13/2019]
Artwork created by talented high school students from Community College District 515 is display at the 2019 Prairie State College (PSC) juried high school art exhibit, “Hypnotic.” The exhibit is open through April 3, in the Christopher Art Gallery, located on PSC’s main campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.
This annual exhibit, curated by PSC art faculty member, Associate Professor Rebecca Slagle, features a variety of media, including sculpture, photography, drawing, graphic design, computer art and painting.
“The attention to detail and level of artistry demonstrated through the works of these students, is impressive,” said Slagle.
Entries were submitted through the district high school art departments and judged by PSC’s art faculty. Winners of this year’s art exhibit will be announced at the awards ceremony and reception on Thursday, March 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the gallery.
The Christopher Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. The gallery may also be visited by appointment. For more information, visit prairiestate.edu/artgallery or call (708) 709-7738.
