spring concerts 2019

The Prairie State College (PSC) Music Department is hosting two concert events in the coming weeks. Both concerts are free and open to the public.

The first features the PSC Jazz Pioneers, and will begin at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, in the Proven IT Conference Room in the Conference Center of the College's main campus, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

The second concert features the PSC Wind Ensemble at 7 p.m., Monday, May 6, in the Barnes & Noble College Auditorium in the Conference Center.

"Prairie State College's ensembles are a wonderful mix of student, community, and professional musicians, who come together to work toward a common goal: playing music for the community at large," said PSC Professor of Music and Music Department Chair Valerie Nicholson. "Our directors Phillip Crews and Eugene Vinyard are, themselves, respected musicians. The music they select is challenging and rewarding for performer and audience member alike."
