Welcome to the Department of Nursing's Website. We hope that you will be able to navigate the site without problems. It is our wish as the Nursing Faculty you will join us soon in accomplishing your life's dream of serving humanity by becoming a Registered Professional Nurse.
The registered nursing program at Prairie State College meets the state education requirements for an entry-level nursing license in the state of Illinois. Prairie State College has not determined if the registered nursing program at Prairie State College meets the state education requirements in any other state, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia.
Students considering a program of study that leads to professional licensure, endorsement, or certification in Nursing should contact the appropriate licensing agency in the state where you plan to be licensed prior to enrollment at Prairie State College to ensure the coursework meets that state's requirements. Links to the requirements for each state can be found at the National Council for States Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Prairie State College Nursing Program has been granted full accreditation by ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, previously called the NLNAC) through the year 2029.
