Adult Education
Prairie State College offers adult education classes free of charge to eligible individuals
in need of basic education, preparation for the Illinois high school equivalency exam,
English language proficiency, or one-on-one tutoring. Classes are available morning

State College non-credit, career-focused class and learn the skills to get a job in
less than a year. Gain practical skills and knowledge to prepare for work in high-demand

Host your next successful meeting or event at the Conference Center. We support your
event goals with offering flexible room arrangements, audio visual equipment and catering.

Construction Business Development Center (CBDC)
Participants will receive comprehensive, customized business development assistance
to build financial understanding and business plans for increased stability and growth
in the transportation-related construction industry. Services are customized to the
assessed strengths, challenges and needs of participating firms. This includes education,
guidance and feedback on general business and construction-specific operations, including
strategic planning and assistance with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
pre-qualification application. Programs are either self-paced (you determine how quickly
you complete a program) or cohortbased. Cohort programs offer a group setting that

On campus, online and onsite courses for professionals seeking to obtain education
in their current field in order to meet their state license renewal requirements.

Tuition Assistance
If you require financial assistance for a non-credit career training program, there
are several options available to you based on eligibility. While non-credit certificate
programs are not eligible for federal financial aid, please review some of the programs
below that may bridge the funding gap for those pursuing short-term certifications.

Non-Credit Courses and Programs
Students can register for non-credit courses online or in person. Another option is to complete the registration form available online
or in the back of the printed non-credit course schedule. Students also can register
for non-credit courses in person at the Matteson Area Center, located at 4821 Southwick
