PSC Establishes Partnership with AAPC for Medical Billing and Coding Program [04/21/2017]
In a rapidly evolving healthcare environment, employers need trained professionals to help them manage the onslaught of changes, maintain compliance and preserve profitability. To help address these needs, Prairie State College (PSC) has established a partnership agreement with AAPC to provide training to our local workforce through the college’s Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program.
Students enrolled in the program prepare for certification and a career in the medical industry. Career options include medical coding training, medical billing training, medical auditing training, healthcare compliance, practice management training or educational partnerships. This is a non-credit, fast track program that can be completed in less than a year.
Through the partnership with AAPC, students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to become a member of the world’s largest training and credentialing organization for the business of healthcare with more than 160,000 healthcare business members. Membership includes access to many benefits, including continuing education, networking, recognition, savings, employment assistance and other resources. In addition, curriculum and resources will help prepare students to become a Certified Professional Coder (CPC®).
