Professional Development Opportunities for Faculty and Staff
Many faculty and staff take advantage of the opportunities abroad for professional development. Below are just a few of the options available. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Professor of Sociology Craig Mulling at ext 3625.
Each year faculty and staff are encouraged to submit an application to participate in a faculty exchange with faculty from other institutions in the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, China and Russia. Faculty are chosen and are partnered with faculty in similar disciplines and faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to participate. For additional information, download the Two-Week Faculty/Administrators' Exchange Program document (PDF).
Visiting Faculty Information
Faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to teach abroad. There are many opportunities during the fall and spring semesters as well as the summer semester. Faculty at other two year institutions have used their sabbatical while others have been allowed to teach abroad as a method of professional development without having to take a sabbatical.
