How To Make An Appointment With The Writing Center

Need help with  writing in any of your  classes? The Prairie State Writing Center is here to help!
Even the best writers do not write alone. Our highly-trained writing consultants are all PSC faculty members who are here to help with any and all stages of the writing process, from beginning to develop your ideas to putting the finishing touches on a final draft. Our goal is not just to help you with specific assignments but to help you become a better writer.

Our consultants can help you the most effectively if you schedule your appointment well in advance of your assignment deadline and bring along all of your related class materials, such as assignment guidelines, any professor or classmate feedback, the syllabus for the course, and anything else you think may be helpful.

Services Offered:
The PSC Writing Center offers half-hour one-on-one tutoring sessions to help you with writing assignments in any of your classes. We can work with you online over a webcam or meet with you in person at the Writing Center. Walk-ins are welcome if a consultant is available, but appointments are encouraged. To make an appointment, go to WCONLINE. For additional assistance, call (708) 709-3570 or stop by 2637.

Tips on how to make the most of your appointment:

  1. Arrive on time- Please be on time to your appointment. Students more than 10 minutes late may forfeit their appointment time.
  2. Be prepared- Bring your assignment sheet, syllabi, instructor contact information, and any other relevant materials.
  3. Cancel if you can't make your appointment- This enables us to help more students. Students who repeatedly do not show up and do not cancel their appointments may be no longer allowed to schedule appointments. All students can utilize the Writing Center on a walk-in basis if tutors are available.
