What Can You Do with a Degree in Accounting & Business Management?

With this degree, you can transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or management. It also prepares you for entry-level positions in bookkeeping, accounting support, office management, and administrative roles. The program provides a strong foundation for building a successful career in finance, management, or entrepreneurship.
Graduates with an Associate in Arts in Accounting & Business Management are well-prepared to transfer to bachelor’s degree programs in accounting, business administration, or related fields. Career paths include roles such as bookkeeper, accounting clerk, management assistant, and financial analyst. The demand for skilled business and accounting professionals continues to grow, offering promising prospects across various industries.

Suggested Curriculum

The critical thinking and writing abilities developed by taking classes in History are highly sought after in a job market that is increasingly influenced by Artificial Intelligence. For further insight into careers in History, or the Liberal Arts, we encourage you to engage with our History faculty about navigating the job market with a degree in History.

Area A: Communication (9 credits)


  • ENG 101 Composition I (C1 900) - with a grade of C or better
  • ENG 102 Composition II (C1 901R) - with a grade of C or better
  • COMM 101 Principles of Communication (C2 900)

Area B: Humanities and Fine Arts (9 credits)


  • Select three courses from the list for Area B with at least one course from humanities and at least one from fine arts.*

Area C: Mathematics (3 credits)


Select one math course from the list for Area C.

Area D: Physical and Life Sciences (7-8 credits)


  • Select one life science course and one physical science course from the list for Area D. One course must have a lab component.

Area E: Social and Behavioral Sciences (9 credits)


  • Select three courses in at least two different disciplines from the list for Area E.*

  • HIST 201 U.S. History: 1492 to 1877 (S2 900)
  • HIST 202 U.S. History: 1877 to Present (S2 901)

Select one of the following sequences depending on recommendations at the intended transfer school:


  • HIST 111 World History to 1500 (IAI: S2 912N) and
  • HIST 112 World History: 1500 to Present (IAI: S2 913 N)
    or
  • HIST 151 History of Western Civilization I (S2 902) and
  • HIST 152 History of Western Civilization II (S2 903)
