HESI-A2 Testing Requirement

HESI-A2 exam scores from other colleges are not accepted for admission into the program. For ranking purposes, all applicants must be tested on the Prairie State College campus.

Complete the HESI A2 exam at Prairie State College. The HESI A2 exam is a readiness test for the healthcare curriculum that covers math, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and anatomy and physiology. Eligible applicants will receive an invitation to take the HESI A2 exam via email after their intent form (PDF) is processed. Please be sure to have access to your PSC student email account and check it often.

Students will complete the HESI A2 exam the week of June 15th, 2026. PLEASE DO NOT SCHEDULE ANY VACATIONS DURING THIS WEEK! There is a fee for this exam. The cost of this exam can change without notice. Testing Services will provide you with payment directions within a week of the exam.

Exam payment will be made to the testing company via their website at least 24 hours prior to the exam.

Applicants must have a cumulative HESI A2 score of 60% or better to continue to be considered. The composite score is factored into their applicant ranking.

The score will be valid for all selective admissions programs should the applicant apply for more than one. However, students may not sit for the HESI A2 exam more than twice per application year, regardless of the selective admissions program that they are applying for. The score is valid for 2 (two) consecutive application cycles (the year that you take the exam and the next application year).

Please contact the Selective Admissions Specialist as soon as possible if you are a re-applying student who would like to use your score from last year. The highest test score will be used.
