Women’s History Month Celebrated with Distinguished Panel at PSC March 28 [03/14/2018]
Celebrating Women’s History Month, Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting a panel of distinguished alumni and faculty of the college who will share their experiences as professional women in the workforce. The program is free and open to the public, and will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, in the Barnes & Noble College Auditorium on the college’s main campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.
Panelists include Debbie Halvorson, PSC alumna, former U.S. representative for Illinois’ 11th Congressional District and president of American Eagle Logistics; Dr. Patricia Martin, PSC alumna, Chamberlain College of Nursing Tinley Park Campus president, and former CEO of South Suburban Hospital; Lori Wilcox, PSC alumna, U.S. Army Reserves veteran and public servant; Dr. Christine Brooms, PSC professor/coordinator of chemistry and department chair of the Natural Sciences Department; LaLinda De La Fuente, PSC associate professor of sociology, and coordinator of social sciences; and Dr. Dianne DeSousa, PSC associate professor/coordinator, psychology, and chair of the Social Science and Education Department.
“Women have such a strong history at Prairie State College,” said PSC President Dr. Terri L. Winfree. “The accomplishments of these women and all women deserve to be celebrated during the month of March and throughout the year.”
