Dr. Jay Ratliff Joins Prairie State College as the New Dean of Mathematics and Natural Sciences

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Prairie State College (PSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jay Ratliff as the new Dean of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. 

Dr. Ratliff joins PSC with a distinguished background in higher education. He most recently served as the Chair of the Science and Mathematics Department at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina, where he led the department for the past 12 years.

With a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of South Carolina, Dr. Ratliff has held various pivotal roles at Limestone, including chemistry professor and acting Dean of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Following a rigorous and competitive search, the college offered the position to Dr. Ratliff, confident in his ability to excel in this role.

Returning to his roots in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Ratliff, accompanied by his wife and daughter, is excited to be back. In his leisure time, Dr. Ratliff enjoys spending time with his family through board and card games, cycling, and caring for their three rescue dogs.
