CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Jeff Kidd is an Assistant Professor, Coordinator of Automotive Technology at Prairie State College. Kidd teaches Auto 101, 107 (First class in the Electrical category), Hybrid and EV course and coordinates the Automotive Program. We sat down and chatted about his area of expertise and many other topics.

Favorite Part about working at PSC? 

The students and meeting a lot of different people. My previous job was a bit isolated. It’s kind of fun meeting all the new people and different personalities.

What are some advantages of taking automotive classes at Prairie State College?

It’s being refreshed. I’m adding some things that will help them reach their goals as professionals. My whole purpose for being here is helping other people reach their professional goals. The students will benefit because they will have everything they need to become competent and complete professionals.

Grand-Mere, Quebec, Canada. It’s a small town where everyone worked at the paper mill. I lived there for a little while. I got to know people intimately. It was a heck of an experience.

Ghana. Most of my DNA comes from Ghana
