Michael Massengill is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Prairie State College. Professor Massengill teaches Macroeconomic Principles and Microeconomic Principles and is active on campus as the Advisor of the Finance and Sustainability clubs. He’s on the College’s Sustainability Committee and is a beekeeping expert.. We sat down and chatted about his areas of expertise and many other topics.

There’s a lot of value in students doing things on campus outside of the classroom. Students become more comfortable on campus. They enjoy it and develop a lot of skills. Sustainability and Finance are both related to economics.
Earth Month
We live here. So, it deserves a month. They encourage me to do more. Sometimes you nudge. It’s nice to have awareness and act.
What are some advantages of taking Economics at Prairie State College?
IAI courses, guarantees transfer. Much lower cost. More favorable student to faculty ratio

It’s fascinating. You can't watch a video (beekeeping) and do it justice. It’s really cool to see these bees work. Everything is just so perfect. When you have a hive, everything is geometric. It's properly spaced. It’s wild that nature has that level of precision.
