Prairie State College to Begin Phase II - Asbestos Abatement

WHERE:       Prairie State College (Main Building) - 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights, Il 60411

WHAT:

Abatement Phase II: Phase II of the asbestos abatement process will begin on Friday, December 13, in the main building at Prairie State College. 

The main building will be closed during this process and is expected to be fully operational by January 13, except the Prairie Center, which will remain closed until the new flooring is installed. 

Please note: The college will be closed for winter break beginning Tuesday, December 24, and will reopen on Monday, January 6, with student services offered in temporary locations noted below. 

Welcome Center

The Welcome Center, responsible for student and employee IDs, will remain in Conference Center Room #1315. Please direct individuals there.

Bookstore

The Bookstore will be relocated to Conference Center #1322 and open for business by Friday, December 13. It will remain there until the main building reopens.

Student Services 

Testing will be temporarily relocated to the Adult Training and Outreach Center (ATOC) room A131. All other Student Affairs departments, including Academic Advising, Enrollment Services, and Financial Aid, will be remote through January 6. In-person services will continue the week of January 6 in ATOC. Note the following temporary locations: Enrollment Services A122, Academic Advising A110 and 145, Testing A131, Financial Aid A120, Access and Disability Services A130.

Business Office | Student Payments 

The Business Office will be remote through January 6. During the week of January 6,  in-person location and hours will be as follows:

  • ATOC, room 177
  • Monday: noon - 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

PSC Foundation 

The Foundation will be remote through January 13. To learn more and for contact information, visit https://www.thepscf.org/.
