PSC Celebrates Veterans with November Events and Special Ceremony on Nov. 11

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Prairie State College (PSC) will honor the service and sacrifice of veterans with a series of community events throughout November. Unless noted, all events will be held on the PSC main campus, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights, IL 60411.

Veterans Day Ceremony
Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
Conference Center Auditorium

PSC Board Trustee Bishop Ronald White will deliver the keynote address, followed by a special recognition for the Village of Richton Park and a post-ceremony fellowship and lunch. Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.There will also be a $5 raffle for a chance to win a gift basket valued at $250, with proceeds benefiting veterans at the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Prince Home.

Art Exhibition: “The Art of Valor: Created, Remembered, Renewed”

The exhibition showcases the voices of American military veterans through diverse media reflecting their experiences and artistic journeys. The community is invited to the Artists Reception on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Veterans Appreciation Basketball Games
Thursday, November 20, 2025
PSC Fieldhouse, 100 W. 197th Place, Chicago Heights, IL 60411 

The women’s team will play at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s at 7 p.m., as the Pioneers take on the South Suburban College Bulldogs. Bloom Township High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) will present the colors, and a special recognition will be held for veterans in attendance.
