The Board of Trustees meetings are usually held on the last Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the College Board Room (2274). All meetings, other than executive sessions, are open to the public.

The Prairie State College Trustee election will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
The College
has three positions open - two full six-year terms (terms will end April 2031) and
one unexpired
term for two years (term will end in April 2027).
The first day to circulate petitions is Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Petition packets
are available to
download at elections.il.gov.
Petitions may be filed in person between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning
Tuesday,
November 12, 2024 through Friday, November 15, 2024 and Monday, November 18, 2024
from 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. in Room 2270, 202 S. Halsted Street, Chicago Heights, IL.
Objections to Nominating Petitions may be filed Tuesday, November 19, 2024 to Monday,
November 25,
2024, from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Room 2270.
If necessary, a lottery for ballot placement will be held on November 20 at 12 noon in Room 2274.

Written communications should be sent to the Board in care of the President's Office,
Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights, IL 60411 or by email to
boardoftrustees@prairiestate.edu. All letters must be signed and include the legal address of the correspondent. Written
communications are distributed to each individual trustees but not read aloud at the
meetings.
As stated in Board Policy A-25 "The public shall be given an opportunity to address the Board of Trustees at any official Board meeting in regard to any item on the agenda during the "Oral/Written Public Communications" portion of the agenda. The time set aside to accommodate such public statements shall not exceed thirty (30) minutes unless extended by Board of Trustee action during a meeting."
Trustees ask that comments be in good taste and demonstrate consideration for others. Each speaker should limit their comments to three minutes. Those wishing to provide documents to the Board should provide ten copies to the Board Secretary. Board members generally do not engage in dialog with speakers.
In keeping with Board Policy A-24, records of all transactions of the Board of Trustees are set forth in the official minutes of the Board, with the recording of such minutes delegated by the Board to the Recorder. Executive Session (closed meeting) minutes are not available to public viewing until approved by the Board.
Persons wishing to view official minutes of the Board of Trustees meetings in person or requesting copies of such minutes must submit a written or email request as required under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Correspondence should be sent to the Board Secretary in care of the President’s Office, Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights, IL 60411 or by email to amccaskill9981@prairiestate.edu. Viewing minutes or picking up copies is by appointment only, after FOIA approval, during regular office hours.
