Student Success KPI: Transfer-out Rate
Definition: Transfer-out rate refers to the total number of students from the fall cohort who are known to have transferred out of the institution (without earning a degree/award) and subsequently re-enrolled at another institution within the same time period; divided by the same adjusted cohort (initial cohort minus allowable exclusions).
Note: From the Fall 2008 and Fall 2009 first-time, degree-seeking students, 31% transferred to four-year universities. Thirty-three percent (33%) of these transferred students graduated from four-year colleges in the last seven years.
