Tuition Relief offered to PSC students with outstanding balances for 2020 spring and summer semesters [01/18/2021]
Prairie State College (PSC) students with balances from the 2020 spring and summer semesters may be eligible for the Tuition Relief Program. This $300,000 grant provides eligible PSC students the opportunity to receive funds to clear their financial encumbrance at the college and regain good financial standing and avoid future collection or garnishment actions.
The Dean of Enrollment Management Jaime Miller says the program is a way students can continue their education without the financial burden of past semesters.
“Students who fall on hard times, especially during the pandemic, deserve some relief. We want to wipe the slate clean, or at least help our students get back on track by providing them with tuition assistance,” says Miller.
The deadline to apply is Friday, February 12, 2021. Applications will be reviewed, and a decision will be made within two weeks after submission. Once a decision is made, PSC will contact students through their PSC email. No cash disbursement will be sent. The college will apply funds to outstanding tuition/fee balance incurred from the spring 2020 or summer 2020 semesters for those who are approved. Awards will be made until funds are exhausted.
The application is available online at Tuition Relief Program.
Funding is only available to students with a prior balance from the 2020 spring and summer semesters. Balances owed from the fall 2020 semester or the current spring 2021 semester are not eligible for the program.
