Professor Jessica GravelyProfessor Jessica Gravely

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Meet Jessica Gravely who teaches English 101 (Online), English 102 and Multimedia Writing at PSC and manages "The Pioneer", PSC’s student newspaper!

We are thrilled to have Professor Gravely on staff. Her favorite part of working at PSC is the students.

“I love watching them develop and grow and seeing the students go from struggling to a place where they are successful,” Gravely said.

Gravely brings an impressive resume to PSC having done her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina. She also earned a master’s degree from Wake Forest University. Learn a little more about her below.

Hobbies: Hiking, Gardening

Last Song you Listened to: Thunder (Imagine Dragons). My kid is learning to play it on the piano or listening to it and trying to teach himself how to do it. We’ve been hearing that song a lot.

Favorite Movie: Adaptation (2002)

Favorite Flavor of Ice Cream: Cookies and Cream

Bucket List Item: I’d like to go to Machu Picchu.

Perks of Working on the Student Newspaper: (Students will) Develop valuable skills regardless of what career they're into. You get a chance to be really involved in the local community and get to know people more on campus especially for students who aren’t already in a club. If someone comes in and says they want to do photography or reporting, that’s great. We can teach them. They can have something on their LinkedIn when they graduate.

First Thing You’d Buy if you Won the Lottery: Hiring a personal chef and then donating lots of money for free college tuition and living stipends so that students don't have to take out loans or work so many hours to make ends meet while in school.
